18th July
Yesterday was the SESSS open show where the Woodspa Kennel was represted by Isla in Open Bitch and the Stakes class where she was placed 2nd and 4th respectively. Toby was in Junior, Maiden, and Novice and was placed 4th 3rd and 3rd - personally I think his places should have been better - but maybe I am just biased!! Willow, was 1st in Junior and 1st in Maiden although she was the only entrant in each class, she was 2nd in Novice and 2nd in Special Beginner. Generaly the show was a nice day - the weather was perfect and the relaxed atmosphere made it an enjoyable day. The judge was Christine Macdonald. I have added couple of photos to the dogs galleries. Hopefully, we will have better news from Ash who is being shown today - so good luck to Jane.
Isla's critique from the SESSS Open show - neat bitch of good type and in first class coat and condition. Lovely head and expression. I would prefer more angulation in front and rear construction and a bit more scope throughout. Happy and sound on the move and kept her topline.

East of England Championship show at Peterborough was the venue today. It was a lovely day, the weather not as hot as the previous few days, so it was much better for the dogs. Eula won her Junior class and was 2nd in Graduate, Isla managed a 3rd in Open. Jane with Ash had a good day winning both Junior and Graduate, but he pulled out all the stops in the Junior Stakes to win the large class plus a masive £50 for Jane - woo hoo!!! Well done. Sylvia was also there with Willow - their first time at a General Championship show, and dispite the nerves they were placed 4th - so well done to them too. Our judge today was Lyn Gregory (Arcadia)
2nd July
Good news from Jane today - it has been confirmed that Ash has gained his Show Certificate of Merit - well done to Jane and Steve.
26th June
No shows this weekend for us, but Jane and Ash made the long journey to Blackpool Championship show under Bob Jackson (Mompesson). Ash won the Junior class and was 2nd in a good Graduate class - well done!
A couple of critiques have been added for Eula and Isla - UK Paper and South of England Gundog - both on the April - May news page.

More brilliant news from Jane, Ash has won Res. Best in Show at Newmarket, which is a two day open show. He won Best in Show on the first day, and had to go back on Sunday to challenge the winner of that days show - and he was declard the runner up. Really well done to Jane, we are really proud of your achivements with Ash.
Also, Tezz and Toby, W, Elm have been out and about at the weekend, at Detling Ringcraft Clubs companion dog show, Toby was 2nd in Junior and he won the best dog over 15 inches class, and then went on to get res. best novelty in show.
We are so pleased that you are all enjoying your Woodspa's.
13th June
A fantastic day under Sally Leslie, (Risdene), at the Northern English Springer Spaniel Championship show yesterday, despite the appalling weather!! Eula and Ash both won enough classes to secure their Junior Warrants. Ash did exceptionally well – he won all of his five classes and was short listed for the Dog Challenge Certificate, and at only 15 months old – that is a really big achievement. Eula won two of her five classes, which was enough to gain her last points, and she was 2nd in her 3 other classes. We celebrated in style on the way home with burger, chips and chocolate, and although we drove home through the worst rain – the sun was shining in our van!
12th June
News just in from Jane Eyeington, Ash - gets Best of Breed, Group 1 and BEST IN SHOW at SWECA today. Congratulations from all of us at Woodspa, excellent!!!
4th June
We didn't have the best of days today at Southern Counties under Carole Coode. I only took Eula and in an effort to secure the last of her Junior Warrent points, she was entered in 3 classes. She was 4th in Junior, 3rd In yearing and 3rd in Graduate - oh well there is always another day and another show. Ash had a better day being 2nd in Junior and Jane was delighted when he was 3rd in the Junior Stakes - winning £15.
