Welcome to Woodspa English Springer Spaniels

We are Lesley and Keith McCourt, we have a small kennel of English Springer Spaniels and one Rottweiler, and we are based in Kent.

We have had a lifetime of owning dogs of all types, but in 2002 we ventured into showing. Our first show dog was Harry, he is our black, white & tan English Springer. Then came Grace our Rottweiler, and finally Isla, our liver & white English Springer.

My (Lesley) early 'dog life' was in obedience, back in those days 'breed type' meant nothing, it was all down to the dogs willingness to work and the handlers skill and understanding of their dog, a vast amount of patience, and a lot of practice! For approximately 10 years I ran an obedience club for pet owners - long before the days of the Good Citizen Test - we did however, run it on an 8 week course basis which culminated in a road safety test - pretty much the same as the bronze level of the Good Citizen Test - so perhaps we were the pioneers!!

Well that was the past, and so to the future. We have been bitten by the ‘showing bug' and have enjoyed some success in the ring. Harry won two Best in Show awards and Isla has also had success. Grace, sadly never really took to the, 'show world', but she is a much loved member of the family.

We will only breed a litter of puppies when we want a dog of our own, and we aim to produce dogs of good health and temperament.
