When we decide to breed a litter of puppies, it is because we want to add another dog to our family. Our aim is to improve on the dogs that we own and show, and so we strive to produce dogs of good type and temperament.
All of our dogs are health tested, and we only use stud dogs that are tested to the same standard – those set out by the Kennel Club. You will find a comprehesive list of the health tests that are required, plus other information on health schemes at www.sesss.org this is the website of the Southern English Springer Spaniel Society.
When we breed a litter we look for the best possible homes for our puppies, so we will be asking you some questions when you make your initial enquiry, and of course we will answer any questions that you may want to ask us. Once we are satisfied, we will add you to our waiting list, and then as the puppies are born we will contact you to see if you are still interested. Assuming that you are you will be invited to see the puppies when they are around 5 – 6 weeks old. It may not be possible for you to pick out your puppy at that point, as we reserve the right to ‘pick of the litter’ and quite often that choice cannot be made until the puppies are 8 – 10 weeks old. However, you will be getting a lovely puppy, and it may well be the puppy of your choice. We just ask for patience.
We will also ask you to sign a contract, that contract is to ensure the care and well being of our puppy. You will be given a copy when you visit for the first time, so that you can read it at your leisure and ask any questions that you may have.
Your puppies registration document will carry the following ENDOSEMENTS:
Progeny not to be registered. This is a restriction on breeding, this can be lifted, providing certain criteria has been met. This can be discussed in more detail, should you feel you would like to breed at some time in the future.
Not to be issued an Export Certificate.
Our puppies will be ready to leave for their new homes at 8 weeks of age, they will be microchipped, but not vaccinated, as many vets differ in their vaccines and we feel it is better to let your vet start and finish the course.
You will be provided with a puppy pack containing, amongst other things
Worming schedule
Feeding guidelines
Kennel Club registration document
Pedigree
4 weeks pet insurance
Basic guide to training and socialising
Enough puppy food, to see the puppy settled in.
A lifetime of support from us.
