14th December

Isla wins Best Baby Puppy in Match at our ringcraft classes under Judge Clair Boggia. We had a very enjoyable evening with our friends.

08th November

Tonight, Isla was enrolled in the local puppy socialising class. These classes are good grounding for puppies regardless of what you intend to do with your pup. A well socialised puppy, grows into a sociable adult, withwhom you will have hours of endless fun.

19th October

Good News - our new baby arrived home today, we have called her Isla. She has come from the famous Calvdale Kennels of Nicola and Martin Calvert. We are very pleased with her, and like our other dogs she will have her own dedicated page, just as soon as we have some photographs and news...so, keep a lookout for it in the near future.

23rd July

After nearly a year out of the ring, we took Grace to Kingston and District Open Show, and she was a very creditable 3rd from a class of 6. I was really pleased with her as she really has no interest in this 'showing game' but we had a nice day out, and after an absence for me of over six months it was nice to get back in the ring again.

25th May

Our fourth wedding anniversary - it's ironic, that Harry was our 1st wedding anniversary present to ourselves and here we are four years later to the day and he is being operated on - life! The surgeon rang tonight to say that the operation was a success, but that the bone fragments were larger than they first thought, and so the operation was more invasive than they would have liked it to be. She also said that the damage to the joint was such that she felt he would never be sound again. This is a real blow to us, but, at the end of the day, he is alive and that is all that really matters.

23rd May

We heard from the RVC today, that Harry has degeneration in the elbow, and that she would need to operate to remove bone fragments and to flush the joint through.

22nd May

Today we took Harry to the RVC and had a consultation with the orthopaedic surgeon, she has kept him in for further xray, and CT scan, which will take place tomorrow.

March - May

During this period, there have been several visits to the vet to try to find the cause of Harry's persistent lameness, which our vet feels should have healed long ago. Examination, xray and drugs have done nothing for him, so we have now been referred to the Royal Veterinary Collage.

18th February

We attended the Kent Super Match tonight, as all BIS winners of Kent shows qualify. Harry is 99% recovered and with the aid of some painkiller, we thought we would get through the night. But unfortunatly the lameness appears worse once he brakes into a trot, so although we attended he took no part other than to collect his qualifiers rosette.

28th January

Today we have had a disaster, Harry was involved in a road accident. Thankfully, he suffered no broken bones or other major injuries, but he is badly bruised, and lame on three legs.

The accident happened at the end of our walk in the park, just as I was putting him and Grace back into our van. Harry decided that he didn’t want to go home and ducked under the van door and off to the other end of the park. Here he got under a fence into a back garden and then through to the front and on to the road.

We are very fortunate to still have him with us, but I think it will be awhile before he is in the show ring again.
